If you are not going to the Kings Of Leon gig at the Ricoh Arena on May 30th then you are advised to avoid the area around Coventry City's home.

38,000 people are expected to see the American band and the support of will be supported by Mona, White Lies and The Whigs and there is expected to be plenty of traffic, as those who have not been the Ricoh Arena before look for parking places.

If you are going to the gig, then gates will open at 4pm and the car-parks will be open from 11am.

The Exclusion Zone will be enforced and parking at the Arena itself is limited.

There are over 4,000 spaces available at five park and walk sites at Christ the King, St Finbars FC, Wayside Business Park, Exhall Grange School and Holbrooks Primary School.

There is also a park and ride scheme operating from key locations around the city centre. Buses will pick up and drop off at Coventry railway station and Broadgate.

People will be given a return ticket and they will be dropped off at the service road at the Arena Shopping Park, which is also where they will be collected after the concert. Buses will also leave from Judds Lane at the end of the concert to the city centre locations.

In addition, there will no taxis allowed on the Ricoh Arena site, but it has been arranged for a dedicated taxi rank to operate from Arena Shopping Park before and after the concert, however people are advised to catch a bus to the city centre (£2 fare one way).

Pre-booking for the on-site car parks finished on Wednesday

All Blue Badge enquiries should be directed to the car park manager by telephone on 0844 873 6514. All remaining spaces will be available on the day.

All on-site car parks and the park and walk sites will be open from 11am.

For parking queries contact 0844 873 6514.

The concert is expected to finish around 10.30pm.

The times of the last trains to leave Coventry station to London Euston and Birmingham New Street has been extended until 11.30pm.

Passengers are requested to reach the station by 11pm due to expected queues. Bus pick up point to the station are at Tesco service road.

Anthony Mundy, facilities director at the Ricoh Arena, said to the Ricoh Arena website; “Delays are possible on local roads as people head for the Ricoh Arena, which is why people are being advised to arrive early in the afternoon.

“The residents’ parking scheme will be enforced within two kilometres of the Ricoh so parking in nearby streets won’t be allowed.

“There are plenty of spaces available at the park and walk sites so there is no need for people to panic. A free shuttle service will bring fans to the venue from the official park and walk sites.

“If fans could give some thought as to their journey it will help to ease the congestion on the local road network and anyone who normally passes the Ricoh Arena is advised to plan an alternative route.

“We are also advising people to be dropped off and collected in a new designated ‘Drop Off and Pick Up’ point in Arena Shopping Park car-park. We are strongly advising that people do not under any circumstances drop off or pick up on the A444 as it is so dangerous.”
