Arena Coventry Limited Boss Daniel Gidney has said that staging Coventry Rugby Club's Championship match against Bedford tonight is the right thing to do.

Speaking to BBC Coventry & Warwickshire who will have the game live on their radio station, Mr Gidney said: "Whatever we could do to help it was never going to be a problem. "We're a partner with the RFU anyway with the Rugby World Cup in 2015 and this is just the right thing to do.

"So many people put in a lot of their own money last year to raise money for the bond to help save the club at that time.

"All we're doing is providing a venue to ensure they fulfil a fixture and we're just delighted to do that."

Season tickets will be honoured at the Ricoh and admission will be the same for at the Butts Park Arena. kick-off is at 7.45pm
