Rumours abound that Coventry City's Ricoh Arena home could be rocking to the sound of vehicle engines next year.

This year's Coventry Festival Of Motoring, normally held at the Memorial Park, has been cancelled with letters to participants citing traffic congestion, lack of space and the weather for the decision to look for a new venue.

Unfortunately, the next preferred venue which hosts a mixture of indoor and outdoor space as the Ricoh does with its Jaquar Exhibition Hall which staged an E-Type Jaguar exhibition on April 2nd, car parks etc, was this year unavailable.

Speaking to the CT, Gary Hall, the CEO at Coventry Transport Museum said: "Because it's so successful we have had feedback from some participants saying they want it to grow.

"As a result we have had to make a decision on a new venue which is not available this year. That means we could not anything more with the festival this year.

"It's a great festival and the unique selling point is the drive around the Warwickshire countryside. That will obviously stay."

The 2012 Festival is planned to take place on August 25th and 26th, a week after the Football League season starts and rumours also suggest that the Sky Blues will apply for an an away game on that day, so the festival can be accommodated.
