Proposed by Local music historian Pete Chambers and backed by Coventry City Council, The Walk of Fame will be based in a central location in Coventry and consist of an initial ten plaques, bearing the name of ten worthy 'Coventry Legends', to be voted by the public. It is proposed that each year a new 'Legend' will be added, also from public nomination.

This will give the people of the area, a chance to nominate whom 'they want' in the Walk of Fame. It's open to all fields, not just music of course, sportsmen and sportswoman, inventors, actors and actresses and historical figures. Nominees don't necessarily need to have been born in the city, but they must have, or had, a strong connection with it. There will be a selection board that will oversee the final ten inductees.
