City Council Applying For Government Grant For Ricoh Station

Coventry City Council are applying for Government funding for a railway station at the Ricoh Arena.

Plans had been knocked back by Network Rail for a station at the home of Coventry City FC, but Coventry City Council have been told that they can apply for funding towards the NUCKLE (Nuneaton, Coventry, Kenilworth and Leamington) scheme.

According to the Coventry Observer, the City Council have said that they will be sending in their application within weeks.

The first stage which includes building a station at the Ricoh Arena and new platforms at Coventry station, is expected to cost around £11m
